New Beginnings
So 2013 draws to a close and out first year of growing veggies has some up and some downs.
The onion crop was excellent as were the leaks, broad beans, tomatoes and chillies. Had a decent number of carrots, radishes and spring onions. The potatoes were a big slow but they gave enough for about 4 meals.
We did plant what we thought were cabbages but they turned out to be cauliflowers. The only problems was that they were infested with caterpillars so we only got to eat one of them. Will know better next time.
The picture below is the beginnings of the crop of red onions. I thought I wouldn’t see anything until spring but they have all spouted along with a load of garlic.
