June bursting out all over

All of a sudden everything has burst into life. The potatoes have gone bezerk and are flowering well. The courgettes are growing an inch per day and the tomatoes are doing their thing in the greenhouse.

First Plantings

The potatoes all chitted so they went in the ground this weekend. I also got the irrigation system sorted so things are ready for the vegetables. Being very samey this year: potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, courgettes, leeks, peppers and tomatoes. And the raspberries, blueberries and strawberries are beggining their journey to fruity goodness as well.

Spring 2015

After the last few warm days thoughts have turned once more to the garden. The hole in the Ground

At the back of the garden is a large mound. It’s fantastic topsoil but the problem is it’s covering a huge quantity of rubble. It seems that the previous owners of Bridge house used it as a dump for all their building spoil. Now begins the long slow process of clearing 7000 tones of broken

August is bringing to and end some of the veggies but a new lot are starting to ripen. All the onions are now in storage as are the tatties and garlic.

Well perhaps not a pie but all seems to be growing well. The tomatoes will keeps us going for months considering the number of fruit. The blueberries give us a hand full each day and the peppers are ripening well. Don’t yet know what colour they will be.
